The Council of Community Colleges of Jamaica (CCCJ) and its member colleges received medical supplies and equipment from FHI 360, through the USAID Advance Program. This donation was in partnership with Project C.U.R.E. and with support from the National Education Trust.

These items will help the CCCJ and its member colleges to cater to the medical needs of its communities, establish and upgrade skills labs for students enrolled in their nursing programmes and continue to protect themselves against COVID-19. They received masks, sanitizers, thermometers, gloves, gowns, and emergency relief beds.

Ten community colleges benefited from this donation: Brown’s Town Community College, Portmore Community College, Moneague College, The College of Agriculture, Science and Education, Trench Town Polytechnic College, Excelsior Community College, Knox Community College, Montego Bay Community College, Knockalva Polytechnic College and Bethlehem Moravian College.

The CCCJ is one of Advance’s partner institutions in Jamaica. Advance is implemented by FHI 360 and funded by USAID.

Advance is a workforce development program implemented in Latin America and the Caribbean.
